Hannover Leasing's primary shareholder is Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen Girozentrale, which owns 49.34% of the company. 48.00% belong to Hessisch-Thüringische Sparkassen-Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH. The remaining shareholder is Friedrich Wilhelm Patt (2.66%).

After obtaining his degree in Economics, Mr. Patt was a financial auditor and partner at Treuarbeit AG (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) prior to becoming Director of Auditing at Sparkassen- und Giroverband Hessen-Thüringen. He joined Hannover Leasing in 1997 as CEO and has been a Managing Partner since 2003. In 2007 he took on the role of Management Speaker, the company's external representative.
